At 3 years old, Nico Gallegos was diagnosed with nephrotic syndrome, a disease which slowly damaged his kidneys over time. By the age of 20, he had started dialysis and was told he needed a kidney transplant. That's when he first came to the Presbyterian/St. Luke's Kidney Transplant Center in Denver, Colorado. There, they discovered Nico had a cancerous mass on one of his kidneys and needed a transplant as soon as possible. Thankfully, one of his brothers was a match. In this video, Nico talks about his journey and the amazing care he received at Presbyterian/St. Luke's.
