In 2011, Sandra Beiriger went to the ER with what she thought was appendicitis and was told that she had B Cell Lymphoblastic Lymphoma. After receiving a round of chemotherapy, she was referred to the Colorado Blood Cancer Institute (CBCI) at Presbyterian/St. Luke's Medical Center for treatment. Because Sandra needed a stem cell transplant, her oncologist wanted her to see Dr. Scott Bearman, an expert in the field.
When Sandra began her journey with CBCI, she was impressed not only by their level of expertise, but also by the phenomenal care she received. From her doctor to her navigator and everyone in between, the staff at CBCI became her second family. She says, "I hope that I never have to do this again, but if I did I would definitely come back to CBCI. They treat you like family."
