Vernon Sanchez

liver , psl

Conrad “Vernon” Sanchez traveled from his rural neighborhood to the “big city” where he was diagnosed with cancer and learned that a liver transplant was required. Added to the transplant waitlist, Vernon remembers that momentous day when his nephew told him the incredible news — Presbyterian/St. Luke’s had a liver for him. He underwent a successful liver transplant at Presbyterian/St. Luke’s with surgeons Dr. Tom Heffron and Dr. Clark Kulig. Vernon states, “They saved my life. I’m excited I get to go home to celebrate my birthday next week. What a great birthday gift!”
